What is this DudeLogger thing anyway?

Before you can begin to consider tuning a car you have to know exactly what operating range you are working with, right? That's why we created the DudeLogger.

The DudeLogger plugs directly into your car's OBD2 port and records 9 car variables...without interaction with a PC!!! These variables include Vehicle Speed, Engine Speed, Airflow, Throttle Position, Air/Fuel Ratio just to name a few. The DudeLogger can record for over 2 hours! When you are finished recording, simply unplug from the OBD2 port and plug it into your computer via USB to download and view the data. Once the data is downloaded from the logger it is automatically erased so that you are free to log more data!

Data is displayed in graph form for easy viewing. The viewing software supports the display of up to six variables at a time. For a demo of the software, please click here.

DudeLogger is currently available for Mazda RX8, but we have already tested a more generic version on the new V8 and V6 Mercedes lineup as well as Porsche. Once we have the generic logger tested, we are planning on moving to a manufacturer specific variable version for Mercedes and Porsche (to start with), which will give you access to things like specific knock retard per cylinder, oil temperature, etc.
