Is there a way to create/tweak our own files to flash?

There has been very litle interest in the ability to do file modifications, so we are focusing our efforts elsewhere. We'd be more than happy to do modifications for you, but the effort required to make a user application would require a lot more interest from the public!

I must be misunderstanding something:
Where did the changed flash file come from, that I am running on my RX8?
Why do we have a second dongle for flashing if we can only log data?

PS: I have been known to be clueless before...

Sorry, I should have been more specific...there is little interest from the public to make their own files. It seems that people would rather us make the changes for them...that's how the file got in your car and that's why you have a second dongle for flashing.

We make the file and send it to you....you use it to flash your car.

Ahah, that sounds much safer; I would (accidentally) find the one way to tweak the file and start the car on fire.

Am I hearing you correctly? On your website you say:

ProTune for RX8 - COMING SOON

The ability to completely custom tune your RX8 will be available within weeks! Base files will be freely available for download to get you started.

Isn't self-tuning the end game in this whole process...being able to tune your own car with this product? I don't want to be forever beholding to someone to do my work for me. I hope I am misunderstanding elsewise I at least partially purchased your product based on your own false advertizing as to your future development promises. Evil or Very Mad

Not that I don't appreciate the logging and flashing ability but get your story straight....

Spin, I just updated the website to reflect the direction we are moving in. As I mentioned above, we have had very little interest in the programmer...in fact so little that it really doesn't even justify selling the VIN tokens! We have now taken both the VIN tokens and any mention of the textual tuning package off the website.

Like you, we feel that self-tuning is the end goal here...just too bad nobody else feels that way. The comment I get is "Does this mean I am responsible for knowing how to tune my engine?" So it seems people want a tuning package, but don't want to assume any responsiblity for using it.

To anyone that has already purchased VIN tokens we will continue to support all tuning efforts. To anyone that purchased the logger with the intention of purchasing VIN tokens for tuning, please send us an e-mail.

If you feel that you purchased the logger only for the purpose of using it as a programmer, please send me an e-mail and we'll discuss your options.

Also, if you planned on using the programmer as a distribution method and are interested in purchasing VIN tokens in bulk...we'll gladly discuss this possibility.
